ASSESSING THE IMPACT OF TRANSIT-ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT ON RESIDENTS’ QUALITY OF LIFE IN NORTHERN MALAYSIA

Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) is gaining wide acceptance by many state’s governments in Malaysia due to its potential create a liveable neighbourhood with enhanced mobility. Therefore, this study aims assess the impact of TOD on residents’ quality life northern states. The data for were gathered from survey 360 residents who used Northern KTM commuter train service. Descriptive and inferential statistics including chi-square test PLS-SEM technique was performed analyse produce findings. findings shown that there significant differences travel behaviour patterns (companions, frequencies, walking durations) respect respondents’ purposes. Moreover, it revealed land-use diversity walkable design as important principles contribute their life. research would serve base but critical information direct future National Estate Plan.
